the only differences are in default settings that live in the home folder (we never touch the home folder during upgrades), some default installed packages (gtk3-engines-xfce, bash-config, and fbreader were added), and if you are running live-usb, the live system is different from beta (the RC version has some new video selection options that most people won't need but if you do will appreciate).

This is why we say we support updates from RC forward rather than beta. And why beta isos will always report themselves as beta.

Everything looks good.
I just managed the day before to make hplip work in MX Linux 18 for my P1102W.
But i have a problem again with the newer hplip version 3.19.6 in MX-19 RC1. It cannot detect my HP printer on the network.
I tried the MX Test repo, but same problem.
HPLIP cannot detect printers in your network.
This may be due to existing firewall settings blocking the required ports. When you are in a trusted network environment, you may open the ports for network services like mdns and slp in the firewall. For detailed steps follow the link. http://hplipopensource.com/node/374

I just installed both /root and /home zeros and when I want to access my saved files they appear with a padlock. I didn't change my username or my password and I'm the only user. How can I unlock them all?

Did you chose to Reuse or to Save your /home?

No, the /home from zeros but I solved it with the command: chmod 770 -R /home/gerson

Currently MX PI is installing the MX 17 version of the Liquorix kernels from Popular Apps--Kernels, which won't build the Nvidia drivers, even with the 435.21 driver from the test repo, due to the gcc mismatch.

A workaround until this is fixed is to install the header and image packages from the test repo tab instead; just search for Liquorix.

Va-api video hardware acceleration works out of the box with VLC using either the default kernel modesetting driver or the "intel" driver, which I switched to after still getting those annoying scrolling glitches in Firefox with the Skylake 520 Intel GPU with modesetting.

sorry if i was far off - i did look for the thread and comment but did not have any luck. i was trying to recall what i read but either was so far off or else worded my response badly.

i apologize Dolphin_oracle. I tried.

Add a package request in the appropriate sub-forum for MX19.

Adwaita dark never came with a proper WM theme. The latter was specially extracted and packaged for MX18 from a 3rd party gtk theme called adwaita-xfce-dark which is no longer maintained, but which WM theme still works for XFCE.
No need for a package request, I'll simply move to a different theme. Thank you.
