MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback
Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback
That might explain it, if you're still actually running an updated beta 1 rather than a reinstalled beta 3.

I'm not concerned about the missing file that it can't find - no big deal.
But the whole update was cancelled and until the offending file is resolved - is it just gonna keep adding more available updates and not apply them b/c of that one missing file?
Should be able to allow applying the kocher updates and put the missing file in the error queue for later ...
Or maybe it's not releasing the rest of the updates b/c of potential interdependencies?

To JayM
I think no need to post the system info...I ran memtest, my ram is throwing errors, about 5 per pass, all in test 9. Related to a recent power failure, NOT a MX-19 issue.
They are weird, most have the failing addresses at 00xxxxxx140 or c40. The error is always a difference in the last bit, with an Err-Bits of 000000008.
So not sure how the errors can be different addresses (though with some commonality, you know rows and columns of address lines etc) or some memory controller error on the CPU.
I'll do some duckduckgo searching.

Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback
Like I said, the problem is not that one file was left out - I can live without it. But what about the other 8 updates that were due?
The main problem is that until that single file location is fixed in repo's NO updates will be allowed, the MX update bombs out w/o applying the rest of the updates.
Poor exception processing in MX updater proggie. It should say - "Bad news - 1 file cannot be found, do you want to proceed with the rest of the updates? Y/N"

Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback
Ancestris was in the Stable Repo for MX-18, but is not in MX-19. I'm sure it will be eventually, but in the meantime are you aware that MX-19B3 will not be upgradeable to Final, and the release candidate for that will be out pretty soon?Don_in_Vermont wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 10:03 am Installation of Genealogy Program

Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback
The repos have been fixed and my full upgrade went fine.
However - what exactly do I need to do to force the MX updater check for updates daily/weekly/monthly?
There's no such option in MX updater preferences.
Haven't seen a "green" updater box since installing 19b3, I'm checking manually.
No biggie, but still .. something worked, then regressed
