MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback

#1 Post by dolphin_oracle »

Feedback thread for MX-19 Beta 3.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Run all updates before installing nvidia drivers.

Some users with intel video chipsets may need to use “i915.invert_brightness=1” boot code as some machines apparently have brightness values backwards in the driver. There are also options in the various live boot menus for this.

If posting hardware issues, please post the output of “quick-system-info” from the menu or terminal, at a minimum.

If posting nvidia-installer issues, please post the contents of /var/log/ddm.log.

If posting remaster issues, please include the contents of /var/log/live/live-remaster.log

If posting installer issues, please include the contents of /var/log/minstall.log

If posting issues with MX-PackageInstaller “Popular Apps”, please post contents of /var/log/mxpi.log or /var/log/mxpi.log.old (whichever contains the log of your issue).

Any terminal output for application issues should also be provided, ideally.

Cant move panel items. I made panel bottom-horizontal, tried to move some stuff,
but I can't get notification area and clock to be in right corner.. when I go to move
and click on right side of panel it just stays left.

I have 19b3 on VBox and running just fine. @Srdjan, I have no problem moving the panel bar from right side to left side. Did you remember to unlock the bar before dragging it and grab the bar from one end or the other (using the little handle)?

Not moving panel, moving items on panel. Yes, I unlocked it. I reset it to default and
then managed to get it right :)

Perhaps you'll be able to upgrade from the Release Candidate version (not a beta release). Build and break this beta release version where it won't hurt anyone. :bagoverhead:

When shutting down, login screen shows briefly, and then
is terminated, I suppose logical behavior when shutting down
would be not to show login screen at all.
