As always, when the developers are as confident as they can be that it is ready.

Message from Synaptic:

Code: Select all

The repository 'http://it.mxrepo.com/antix/ buster Release' does not have a Release file.
This is also true for Copenhagen, Denmark. These are the only two I have tried so far. The original setting (Salt Lake, USA?) didn't have this problem, but it was slow.

It will prevent installation from MXPI (unless you disable antiX repo I guess) and also refresh of antiX repo in Synaptic.

Apart from this minor repo issue, MX-19 feels just as solid as MX-17/18.
:number1:
Note to self and others: SysVinit is a good option. However if you run into problems try with systemd first. This applies to AppImages, Flatpaks, GitHub packages and even some Debian packages.

This is petty, but automount takes 15 seconds to pop up notification and open Thunar, much slower than other distros I've used. That seems excessive. Is it?

For me, it takes 4 secs for the icon to appear in Thunar if it's already open, and 8 secs for it to open Thunar.

Those times are the same as in MX-18. I don't have another distro installed; can you suggest one I can test with please?

Install and boot with one of the 4.9 kernels and see if it improves.
