I will see how it shakes out as we go to RC and final. That visual glitch is not an issue for me. It is momentary and not distracting, IMO. As I understand the issue it is a result of MX using sysvinit on Debian buster. It does not occur if one logs into systemd.

EDIT: I see a solution has been found. https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 64#p530264

Dolphin did mention previously that at least one fix to a discovered bug will be made through some changes to a setting in /home.

Since the principle we keep to is for updates never to affect /home, upgrades to an existing beta with that bug won't see that fix. Only a fresh install of a newer beta or the RC will have that fix in home.

Do you remember what that was? Maybe it will not come through as an upgrade but can be done manually. Or maybe it is something that will not affect one's usage.

But may be getting ahead of the curve. We are not there yet. I was just speculating .

This Debian Buster user reported a wi-fi problem with the current kernel on Debian and the MX 19 Beta, but it looks to be restricted to 4.19 kernel, and was fixed by using the 5.2 kernel:

http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php? ... 03#p708403

So that could be a known issue with that hardware, though I don't see it with the same wi-fi chip on Live Sessions at all.

For all I know, there could be more.

I do know that fixes to conky configs also won't show up in /home. They will be updated in mx-conky-data in root, and you'd have to copy over the updated files to your conky folder in /home.

Thanks. I am not promoting not doing a new install. That is best for most people. But that notification thing is a minor issue. With the theme I am using it shows fine. With the default it apparently is an issue. Upgrading in place is something I am only considering and I am not proposing anyone else do so.

Loving this distro after trying out a heap of others..

Feedback so far .. imwheel is doing weird things, it'll work fine for a while and then will wig out and get stuck on a scrolling to the bottom of the window, clicking on the scroll bar doesn't do anything as it just keeps scrolling down. Worked fine in 18 with no issue.
Can kill imwheel and restart to fix but it's a bit janky.

imwheel.rc here:

".*"
None, Up, Button4, 5
None, Down, Button5, 5
Control_L, Up, Control_L|Button4
Control_L, Down, Control_L|Button5
Shift_L, Up, Shift_L|Button4
Shift_L, Down, Shift_L|Button5

And the only other issue is one I've had which another use reported a while ago is the mute button on the keyboard can only be unmuted by going into pulse audio..

Other than that .. super great work, happy enough that I just put my mac on eBay. Thank you!

Took a quick dab at trying latest Ubuntu 19.10 betas (Gnome & Budgie) and they both have a blurry glitch at dealing with top panel and browser toolbar (sorry no screenshots).
MX19 b2 beats them both in handling the graphics card of my AMD monitor (which they say is no longer supported and that open source one should suffice).

This in itself is yet another proof of the solid work MX team has done.

grelos I'll work on getting Pinta into the MX-19 repos
Great news! Thanks.
