A better place to report the bug would be in its thread.

Does the stock Debian version have the same issue? You can use aptitude to install that version.
This is not the right thread? I'm testing MX-19 beta 2.1

is that a "bumblebee" system?
Um, I've no idea matey - how would I find that out? :/
well, your system posted lists two graphics cards. when you installed the nvidia drivers, you should have been asked if the system was an "Optimus" system (I said bumblebee earlier, my bad).

If this is a desktop system with discrete graphics card, then its not an optimus system.
Yes it's my desktop PC as I said in my OP ;)

I'll check, but I'm pretty sure I can't.

also,

I think stevo meant our kdenlive thread as well. technically could fit both threads but in this case our kdenlive is newer than debian's. so could be the kdenlive package (maybe even likely the kdenlive package).

Well the MX package installer Kdenlive runs fine on my laptops without Nvidia graphics. That's what made me think it's the driver rather than Kdenlive, and hence why I posted in this thread :)

OK: I've just trawled through my BIOS (It's American Megatrends Aptio 2.11.1210 if that helps) and under the Northbridge settings I get the following:

Integrated graphics [Auto] ...the other option was 'manual'
Initiate graphic adapter [PEG/IDG] ...other option was just 'IDG' which is for integrated graphics only I understand?

I hope this helps :)

I've tried different ways to make redshift work properly but it doesn't change the brightness of the screen at night, it stays the same all day, no changes.
This problem comes from MX 18.1 and now happens the same with the beta 2.1 of MX 19 You don't see the reddish tone.

I'm sick and tired of manually weeding out stuff the "manyroads" style (uninstall/purge), this is really annoying :(
If it were me, I'd just make and keep a list of the packages I remove every time and run

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove <list of packages>
sudo apt-get -s autoremove #check to see if you're nuking the system accidentally
sudo apt-get autoremove
Everyone is going to have a different list...
Then after you do that remaster and make a new ISO to install as many times as you want.

Keep the lists to give you a start for the next release.

/\/\ This is my plan, I like a leaner system too.
What can I say, I'm still a CrunchBanger at heart. Minimalism for speed.

I work better with f.lux but the problem is to do it through the terminal.
Can f.lux be included in MX 19?

With the new default of lz4 compression,
MX Snapshot only takes a couple of minutes, maybe max 10 minutes. Great for minimizers.
Snapshot from time to time.
