Can we please have the option of installing only those applications that we need/want during installation? I.e. give the users a list with "optional" software with tick boxes - how hard is that?
I'm sick and tired of manually weeding out stuff the "manyroads" style (uninstall/purge), this is really annoying :(
I simply don't get the mentality that to attract more users to Linux the amazingly good MX distro needs to offer everything "out of the box"

There will be many people, me included, who want the full monty. I do not want to go through the additional step of adding common software. Bottom line; Both positions are opinions. What is the prevailing opinion, a judgement call by the developers.

To be just as blunt. MX is not for you. There are plenty of distros that do what you want so no need to be sick and tired.

I love MX - this is the only distro that allows creating a custom installable ISO :)
BTW - how do I restore "MX Updater"? I accidentally corrupted it by removing YAD as part of icon browser, but I can't reinstall it from MX Package installer.

Restart it from the whisker menu.

You might also need to reinstall yad - apt-get install yad or use synaptic.

I can't - once the Updater icon has gone from the Whister, so was the app itself. I right-clicked on it and you can't even "edit application" on my "other" MX box
