An option to switch Workspaces when an app is maximized is to use the Margins feature in Settings>Workspaces>Advanced. Set the margins to a small pixel amount. I used 5. Then moving to screen edges with your mouse and using the scroll wheel will change Workspaces. It gives less clutter in the panel.

Re: Switching Workspaces
That option has to be implemented for the tip to work. But if you have a full screen app up, you cannot get to the desktop for it to work.Jerry3904 wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2019 7:19 am Switching with the scroll wheel works by default: Settings > Window Manager Tweaks > Workspaces tab

OK That would make it more clear. But the tip is valid for that situation.
