Hi! I found a post here about LibreOffice not starting on the Live USB (#141). I can confirm that. The same is going on in my case, too (64bit iso).

Thirded (32-bit version.) I just get the LibreOffice splash screen. Running libreoffice %U in a terminal gives

Something to do with AppArmor?

Thanks for the ask, and welcome to the Forum. I copied it to the Package Request forum so they don't miss it.

@JayM: does LO run on the installed system? When I tested it it works on the installed system. All lines you posted say that AppArmor allowed the operations, but to test if AppArmor is blocking anything you could reboot and add "apparmor=0" to the kernel command line.

might need to update the icon cache, which I forget how to do at the moment but usually makes a big difference to ram. If that's the problem anyway.
Well on my main machines not but I have some pretty old laptop with MX on it, every byte counts.

Adding apparmor=0 at the end of the live USB's boot parameters allows LO to be able to run.

I can't install 19b2 right now because I'm down to just one computer and I don't want to run a beta OS on my daily driver, and I don't have enough free space on the SSD right now to create another partition to install it to without causing out of space issues for 18.3. That's the problem with self-contained computers like netbooks, notebooks and laptops vs. desktops: you can only have one drive.

Anyway, if it doesn't work on a persistent USB that's an issue that needs to be fixed as there are lots of people who run MX on USB sticks.

I agree, but what puzzles me is that this issue is only present on the live system and not the installed system even with AppArmor enabled. So the important thing here is to figure out what's going on with the live system that's causing the segfault.
EDIT: LibreOffice 6.3 works on the live system with AppArmor enabled. Probably some bug in LO that got fixed.
