Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback
actually hibernate appears to be working. our version of hibernate relies on more than just enabling the option in xfconf.
the bug is actually that the option doesn't appear in mx-tweak, which I can fix.
so no change to the help file necessary.

Actually yes I had..dolphin_oracle wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 9:42 amOn you pre-installed scenario, had you already started the installer?Eadwine Rose wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 9:21 am Having some trouble using the new Date and Time application, likely a user error thing, but still.
Pre install:
Ahead of installing I wanted to check a file on my external harddrive, the external one did not appear in the devices overview. Couldn't get there via /media either.
Libreoffice quickly flashed but didn't start.
The crowding of the icons in the system tray seems to be gone.
Post install:
I can see the other partitions and drive post install.
Libreoffice starts like normal post install.
System tray crowding issue is back

but you launched thunar after the installer?ChrisUK wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:29 amBefore - obviously available in the installer drop-down, but as I said, not in Thunar.dolphin_oracle wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:20 am [...]
did you plug it in before or after starting the installer?
the installer is using a new method to disable automounting, and it does remove entries from thunar while the installer is running, until the copylinux starts up anyway.
if you could post the /var/log/minstall.log, that would help track down the issue. there may be something unexepected with usb devices.

Yes, Thunar was running before clicking Installer... but I'll try again tomorrow just to be sure (A bit busy ATM). Didn't install, so there's no /var/log/ let alone a minstall.log - or have I missed something?dolphin_oracle wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:32 am [...]

the entries will disappear from thunar when the automount is disable, except for already mounted devices. I wonder if thunar is open if that's enough to prevent writing to the disk?ChrisUK wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:38 amYes, Thunar was running before clicking Installer... but I'll try again tomorrow just to be sure (A bit busy ATM). the log is generated on the live USB, so if you get a crash, grab the log.

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback
Installations/re-installations. (beta2.1)
To HDD no problems
To SDHC card in built in reader/writer - gets auto mounted - unmount via installer disk partitioner, & it gets remounted - have to unmount it at the command line to be able to install.
To USB/pendrive - same as above - have to manually unmount it at the commandline.
(Upgrading from beta1 to beta2.1 seems to work OK.)

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback
I just realised that matcha theme isn't on the beta 2.1 iso by default, even though it was on the superceded beta 2.
Sorry, didn't have time to test until now.

2.1 had to be completely rebuilt to deal with the kernel change.
**edit*** I'll bring it in as a temporary depend to mx-system. just for beta purposes.
