Re: MX-19 Beta 1 Feedback
Mind, I am not seeing the "standard screen" with all the F-key options in the bottom, but I can go to the options using the text menus option.
Everything ends up on the desktop in the end with both screens working (just left and right are swapped, as always). I managed to get the sound working after selecting the correct source in MX Tools Select Sound.
Haven't installed yet, as I am not ready to deal with stuff going wrong at this hour, should that happen.
I didn't see the F-key options in 18.3 anymore either, so to me this is normal behavior.Everything ends up on the desktop in the end with both screens working (just left and right are swapped, as always). Installed zeros with /home clean, runs perfect except that when turned off returns to display for 20 seconds the login screen and then if you start the shutdown.
All the applications I use even some of KDE have no problem, Virtualbox 6, Write and TextMaker comply well, even installed Brave-browser and does not give problem.
This is my desk:

Yes, we are still working on populating the repo, so let us know what's missing!Gerson wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2019 2:12 pmI'm sorry, it's my mistake, I used the old /home folder.dolphin_oracle wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2019 11:55 amdid you turn off the compositor? you need the compositor on for transparency on the new Xfce. or are you using an existing home folder perhaps?Gerson wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2019 11:54 am The ugly duckling for now has flaws in the panel, does not have the time and the conky is not transparent, I miss Docky and Openastro that was in the test repository, I congratulate them for placing FreeOffice, I hope to test it soon. Are there two types of screensavers?
I reinstalled from zeros and now everything works normally, I just hope to have Openastro back in the repository.
Great job, thank you.
If you install xscreensaver to get more screensavers, you will get two entries in the settings. We patched the new xfce4-screensaver applet to add "XFCE4", otherwise we had two identical entries with the same icon. The xscreensavers will automatically appear as choices in the XFCE4 Screensaver settings.
We also know that some Compiz users will have to use workarounds to get it to start, depending on their hardware and video driver.

Yeps. It happened on the 18.3 as well. I don't mind, I can get to what I need easily enough. Just wanted to show things can look.. different

Re: MX-19 Beta 1 Feedback
(Some of) the new XFCE features do not seem to be properly integrated yet (maybe because it is still a beta?). For instance, the new screensaver and its lock screen are not active by default (clicking on the lock screen icon does nothing). Even more confusing, there is a shortcut for locking the screen preconfigured that uses a different locking mechanism than the (new) default XFCE one. Also the new colour profiles settings dialogue seems to be entirely missing (or at least I could not find it).
Re: MX-19 Beta 1 Feedback
After having enabled the new screensaver/locker combo both the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl-Alt-Del" and the Lockicon in the Whisker menu will work. Note xflock4 command will call the new Screensaver/Locker.fladd wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2019 5:00 pm the new screensaver and its lock screen are not active by default (clicking on the lock screen icon does nothing). See here for settings up the Screensaver/Locker app https://docs.xfce.org/apps/screensaver/start

I don't see it either and, according to the Help file, it does not work automatically yet. We'll be checking that out...Also the new colour profiles settings dialogue seems to be entirely missing (or at least I could not find it).

Re: MX-19 Beta 1 Feedback
In the MX Package Installer, Debian Backports didn't work. I enabled them in the repos, and now any MX Tool doesn't work at all! And in Thunar, "Open root Thunar here" doesn't work neither.
