Do any of ya'll play the free Linux games?
Re: Do any of ya'll play the free Linux games?
I tested Steam when I installed Mx 18, many months ago and it ran just fine the game I tested ( I think it was the Doom demo), even on my very modest desktop... So I recommend Steam, if you want to play games in MX.
If you are into board games and dig around the internet in general and Sourceforge in particular you can find very good and free versions of Monopoly, Clue/Cluedo, Risk, Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Dominos, Chess, etc, etc. (most in java format).
Some 12 years ago I was very much into FreeCiv (inspired by the original Civilization games). Freecol is a similar game.
For not very hard core gamers you have SuperTux, TuxRacer, TuxKart, versions of well known "casual" games like supermario and mariokart.

I am not into games much. In fact I usually just have too many other things going on to spend very much time playing games.
Whenever I install MX I always install kpat but even then I only play 40 and 8.
These next few weeks I will be playing it more often because I am recovering from laparoscopic surgery.
I am not the best patient. I get so bored when I can't do all of the normal things.
If I want to heal properly I have to take a vacation from stuff.
Not very good at that. Sorry for going off topic.
Back to you.

I don't have time for games, but would like to try it someday (Use to play back in the day of 8 bit computers and then my Atari ST). The only one I play is AstroMenace, I really like it.

Same here. I tried to get interested in computer games years ago. I had LOTR, and Hobbit computer game, and the Windows XP game where you build civilizations and armies (I forget the name). but got bored with them. I grew up reading for entertainment, so probably born a bit too early to appreciate computer games. I know younger guys that were obsessed with them. We had to use old fashioned imagination when we were kids. As a teen had that lame ping pong computer game, that pretty much killed it for me :)

Not much time for games and I'm never bored and I seem to never have enough free time. Bad managing of my time I guessCyberGhost wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 7:02 pm I thought about doing a video on which games are the best and how to install them for those new to Linux and for those who just want something to play to pass the time, but I have no clue as to how to go about doing that. I'm sure I could figure it out quite possibly.

But I could use your videos. Sometimes I install MX to people that play games. Hope you get around producing some video on a subject. For a starter, when you get bored, you could post here list of the games you like the best. Hope you do.
