MX freezes when shutting down

I installed mx earlier today but whenever I try to shut down my laptop it completely freezes and I have to manually power it off. Is this a common problem and what can I do to fix it?

I have this issue if I shutdown without unmounting an NFS export that I added first, but on first install I didn't have this problem so yours is most likely of a different issue. Is this a plain install?

Yeah it's a plain install. The first few boots were alright but now it freezes every time.
