How install Dolphin on XFCE
Re: How install Dolphin on XFCE
Dolphin is only one file manager who can make folders previews?
Re: How install Dolphin on XFCE
Though others handed you the answer, you could have found those in Synaptic by searching in the Quick Search for
"kde thumbnail". There are a few that you haven't installed, and you must still enable those previews in Dolphin's settings. You might also want to apply some more tips and tricks: https://www.ghacks.net/2018/03/01/tips- ... e-manager/
Nautilus has an unofficial extension that allows for thumbnails on folder icons. I don't find anything for other filemanagers, even polo-gtk.
I don't think MX has the largest installed base in the Linux world by far. We still have a long ways to go to catch up to more established distros. We just are getting the most click-throughs at Distrowatch.

Plus: we do not offer an official KDE version. As we make clear in various locations, support for other DEs or WMs a user installs only comes from individuals.

I installed kde plasma and kde standart also I installed some kde thumbnail you coud see in first post. I did alot think. I don`t understand why use Thunar in MX it is not good file manager. There is good manager Nemo, it is much better when Thunar. But only Dolphin can do folder previews. It`s sad.Stevo wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:27 pm Though others handed you the answer, you could have found those in Synaptic by searching in the Quick Search for

Thumbnails for folder contents are just not enough of a killer feature to justify using a non-XFCE file manager, speaking as one of the developers. I do use Dolphin on XFCE myself, though, and have packaged the KDE epub thumbnailer for MX that no other Debian-based distro had at the time.
Adrian, another MX developer, does have KDE respins of MX that work quite well.

Re: How install Dolphin on XFCE
if you put only video files in folder will you get folder preview?Stevo wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 4:41 pm No, I have it working in Virtual Box. Here's a screenshot. Note that I have Previews clicked on in the top menu--if I click it off, then there are no previews, just icons. Also note the thumbnail on the vulkan folder after I put a jpg into it.
