Hi,
I want to try creating a live USB from using the "Clone an existing live system" option.
What source directory should I be choosing when running? I click on the "Select Source Directory" folder in the Select Source field, then get a drop down with a bunch of directories, starting with "var" then "usr" then "tmp" ...
I'm puzzled as to which directory I should be choosing.

Re: What Source Directory to Select When Creating Live USB?
Under the source directory you have chosen, it will be looking for
antiX/linuxfs
(a file named "linuxfs", residing within a subdirectory named "antiX")
...so, the appropriate choice is "top-level directory" of the live media.
I agree, it's a bit confusing. This exact detail is not explained in the wiki page https://mxlinux.org/wiki/help-files/hel ... usb-maker/

Clone-source directory : Is meant in a sense that you have already another LiveUSB you would mount that other LiveUSBNotTheUnsub wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2019 5:26 pm What source directory should I be choosing when running?
and select the uppermost folder containing the "/antix" directory.
Alternatively, you can also select a (backup) copy from the LiveUSB on your HDD/SSD, and could select the directory of the LiveUSB copy.

Re: [Solved] What Source Directory to Select When Creating Live USB?
Thanks for the clarifications. I understand now.
My line of thinking was that the "live system" is the system I booted up with on my HDD but it is actually an already created live usb.
Always good to have another interpretation opinion. Thanks

Right, "live system" is meant in context of a LiveDVD or a LiveUSB system. It is not meant for an installed system.NotTheUnsub wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2019 7:17 pm My line of thinking was that the "live system" is the system I booted up with on my HDD but it is actually an already created live usb.
