What is MX Workbench 19.3? (Solved)
Acer has published another bios update for this laptop so I decided to have another go at installing MX on this laptop. When I went to the U of Waterloo mirror site, it listed MX Workbench 19.3 x64.iso et al under snapshots but for the earlier 17.1 series the entries were just listed by the month they were created. So is this just a new name for a snapshot os it it something else? The reason I ask is that I have had other dealings with the U of Waterloo where semantics became a real issue.

HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Re: What is MX Workbench 19.3?
It is a utility tool for running from USB to repair and or fix another installation.
For installation, use the MX Linux 18.1 release,
or preferred, the MX Linux 18.1 monthly snapshot,
http://mxrepo.com/snapshots/MX-18.1_March_x64.iso.
There is also one for 32 bit in the Monthly Snapshots.

It is easier to fight for one's principles then to live up to them.

Re: What is MX Workbench 19.3?
Adrian prefers to name his Workbench snapshots by the year and month of its creation.
So it's still MX18-based.

I don't think mirrors should list that Workbench, at least not directly in Snapshots, they should be in a Community_Respin subfolder. But I don't have much control about what mirrors do...

Re: What is MX Workbench 19.3? (Solved)
@Adrian: actually it's the opposite way around, mirrors don't have any control about which iso is placed into which directory on MX ISO master (rsync-mxlinux.org). When mirrors sync, they just replicate/ mirror directory structure and content defined by MX:Adrian wrote: Fri Mar 22, 2019 1:45 pm I don't think mirrors should list that Workbench, at least not directly in Snapshots, they should be in a Community_Respin subfolder. Re: What is MX Workbench 19.3? (Solved)
I messaged antiX-dave about it and he said he'd look at it, but so far Workbench is still in the Snapshots folder instead of the Community_Respins folder on the rsync-mxlinux.org server.
