I've just uploaded the 64-bit to archive.org: https://archive.org/download/MX18b1X64

Also interested if the torrent they create actually works. Uploading 32-bit now.

Edit: 32-bit uploaded: https://archive.org/details/MX18b1386.iso

Not looking good for the torrent:

Code: Select all

Error: Requested download is not authorised for use with this tracker
Error shows in the "Trackers" tab of Ktorrent. Maybe it's not ready, will try again later.

Hello, i tried i386 as i figured it might be getting less attention. Installed fine to HD AFAICT (pretty much all set to defaults)

only thing i noticed:
- grub did not initially create an entry for the windows install on the same HD. Running update-grub corrected this but it might scare a newbie
- got some warning that installing from the stick i had booted in UEFI would result in a non-bootable hard disk (mbr-partitioned). I proceeded anyway and it turned out the system boots just fine.

Not sure what else devs might be interested in, just let me know.

PS: Oh, and i wish the new release included some more of the fine wallpapers that were posted (but please include some abstract ones as well, sharp/pretty pictures are too distracting)

Looks very good. Just put the torrent link into transmssion:

Code: Select all

https://archive.org/download/MX18b1X64/MX18b1X64_archive.torrent
and it loads just fine - with full speed for me:

:puppy:
EDIT: and after a bit more than 4 minutes I got them all with on go:

Code: Select all

keep in mind that Virtualbox UEFI does not emulate nvram necessary for a shtudown/reboot cycle to work. usually they can survive a reboot but once you shut them down, you have to use the Virtualbox boot manager to boot the EFI file manually, which isn't hard, but its not obvious (type exit a lot).

(archive.org ISO torrent works great in Transmission)

Thanks for the test! Maybe it's just something with KTorrent, or it took a while to set up a tracker. It appears that archive.org sets up two full seeders for each torrent.

Edit: added a screenshot! How? Just upload it with the rest of the files--or in this case, add it. https://archive.org/details/MX18b1X64

I didn't install, just to check kernel 4.19 with UEFI. The install CD boots well in Inspiron 5567 (didn't work with 4.15, I was using 4.9).
Cosmetic comment: the blue wallpaper is beautiful.
I will wait for the final release.

@Gordon,
Have you tried axel?
It has helped me overcome bad connections for several years.
axel -a "https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-lin ... o/download"
It will keep restarting for quite a few attemps.
If it seems hung, I stop it with Ctrl-c and then up arrow and enter to start it manually.
Usually no intervention is necessary but occasionally the internet here is not constant.
