antiX-15-beta1-V ISO already patched as of April 16, 2015?

I just downloaded the ISO from sourceforge today.
Booting "Live" mode only gives me a terminal.
Is there supposed to be a desktop?
After I login as demo pass demo - startx just returns me back to terminal with error:
xauth: file /home/demo/.Xauthority does not exist
I tried safe video mode and same thing
Edit: Later I figured out how to input "vga=791" into the first selection and save it, but that still wouldn't boot into a desktop. startx gave same error as above.

Yes. Even a scrambled one if things go south like testing does for me.
No mention of md5sum or how boot media was made.

I use PLOP and Unetbootin on my older gear that has no usb boot support in bios.

On both MX-14 and AntiX 15 beta 2. Even when things go fubar like this.

My atom netbook (without paulsboro graphics though) is installed and it is running AntiX 15 beta 1.

You might consider downloading the patch from http://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/Testing/antiX-15/ along with the md5sums. Run the xdelta to put the patch in beta 1 that fails to load. md5sum check it. It is what I do to avoid headaches so when I report a problem during testing.
Anti and everyone else knows I dotted my p's and q's before posting something like I linked to above.
Presently. It seems like I am the one with the buggiest graphics chip (savage) during this testing cycle.

No problems though on any of my other gear. Which is Intel, Nvidia, and ATI. But. I have no Paulsboro so I cannot comment on that.
Also. I was not aware there was a already patched version of beta 2 complete. Because, I had the original Beta 1 iso on file and did the xdelta
myself. So I may be in error here on what you have downloaded since no link was provided in your post.
There sure was no release announcement of a Beta 2 patched complete iso?

The iso at the top of the page here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-l ... antiX-14R/ is dated "2015-03-16" (March 16th, not April 16th).
That iso is for antix-15-beta1-V.

There's also a patch available, dated "2015-Apr-12", that brings it up to beta2.
The first post in this topic: http://antix.freeforums.org/antix-15-be ... t5588.html has a link and instructions on how to apply the patch.

Sorry for the mixup on the date I'll patch it and try it again on my netbook.
I just booted the unpatched beta1 ISO on my desktop machine and it booted to the desktop in about 10 seconds!
I do most of my testing on my netbook, and use my desktop as my stable environment. I'm planning on installing antiX on my netbook to replace another distro.

However, according to some quick debian-google-fu the Poulsbo graphics are not supported under debian xorg, and they actually [recommend] the fbdev driver. (https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/Model/1101HA)

That may be why Thunar always locks up that netbook when using Thunar in "tree mode" in MX-14.
(I have to hold down the on/off button for 10 seconds and do a hard reboot).
I could try installing the Intel IEGD or IEMGD driver, but I remember it taking me almost 1 to 2 weeks back in 2009 to get one of these drivers set "just right" on that netbook in Debian 6.09
I think that is why I don't want to remove Debian 6.09 from that netbook.
It's working and Thunar never freezes the netbook like MX-14.4 does.
I just booted Debian 6.09 on the netbook and lsmod shows.

Also, I just patched antix 15 to beta 2 and will try it again, maybe it also requires the IEGD or IEMGD driver for that stubborn netbook...

Is there a less convoluted method to get the IEGD or IEMGD driver installed into MX-14.4 or antiX?
I really like MX-14, but on the netbook, the Thunar locking up the computer is a show stopper.
I just use Thunar very carefully and don't keep it open very long.

Probably not. Intel hasn't updated the package since 2011 and even then it was only officially supported for Fedora (and maybe the 2.6 kernel specifically) and Moblin! It was meant for car dash boards and integrated products. acer did a dis-service using it in a netbook. Did that netbook come with Windows?

there was a Ubuntu Hardy Heron version of the graphics driver, because dell sold a mini with ubuntu at the time.
