Mepis 12 is running great on three of my kids' laptops. However, it doesn't like my multiple monitor setup; I'm running openSuSE on that machine, but Firefox crashes four times a day...
I'm giving KWheezy a try on my laptop, but it's a bit rough around the edges, and installs about 8 GB of extra fonts and the like related to Tex.
I see Zevenos has released Neptune 4, a Wheezy based version. I had tried a beta but had problems with suspend and hibernate; perhaps I'll give the final a whirl...
M12 11.9.92
Re: M12 11.9.92
If you haven't already, take a look at SolydK Business Edition. It's Wheezy-based and doesn't install as much stuff as KWheezy. Also a smaller download.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

rschaffter,
Is it Firefox that is crashing or Flash?
Sometimes when Firefox acts up or bogs down, I go into top, and kill the Flash.
Often Firefox springs back to life.
At least for me. YMMV

Re: M12 11.9.92
Firefox' CPU usage increases and it disappears, often while scrolling or changing tabs. I'm not sure if it is an issue with openSuSE or the nVidia driver on that machine. My laptop has a Radeon card, and Firefox doesn't crash with Mepis or KWheezy.....

Re: M12 11.9.92
Not sure if I'm supposed piggy back on this thread to ask my question or start a new topic in the 64 bit forum, but here it goes. I installed Mepis 12 AMD 64 bit quite some time ago because it appeared to be able to do Minecraft whereas I couldn't get it to work on my Mepis 11 (could be for a variety of reasons, not necessarily because M11 was incapable).
At any rate, I discovered that two programs on which I have relied are no longer available in M12: QDVDAuthor and Avidemux. Avidemux appears in the repos (v 1:2.5.6-dmo6) but shows up as a broken package when I click on it and it won't install. QDVDAuthor isn't even in the repos (at least not the ones I have turned on). I figured I'd wait til M12 became official to see if working versions of those two are going to be accessible, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Does anyone else have a problem when tyring to install Avidemux? Or does anyone have an idea on what my problem is? Is QDVDAuthor defunct or in another repo?
Other than that and the fact I think I need a video card for smooth Minecraft play, M12 is really cool. Setting up Japanese input is getting easier and easier with each Mepis release.
