Re: RC2 feedback
Sheesh! I leave you guys so I can get a night's sleep, and whilst I'm away you put out a whole new RC.
As before, installs and runs faultlessly on box in sig, and DELL D610 and DELL D630 laptops.
I'm trying hard, but still haven't managed to break anything - great job!

Re: RC2 feedback
I know, ain't they something? Been playing all night, It's getting light out now, time to hit the hay...
Here's the PIII, installed from a dvd this time. Found a [marginally] better video card, Radeon 7500 with 64m memory as opposed to the old TNT2 (Diamond Viper 770), which had 32m.... So the installs both went off without a hitch. I'll beat and bang on these two and post back if there are any issues....
Edit:One never recovers from the multiboot addiction -- This one is XP on sda1, antiX 13.2 on sda2, sda3 swap, sda5 is MX14RC2. With the advent of MX on this drive, I allowed its grub2 to take over the MBR from antiX grub1 just for S&G. All is well, booting and running each one with no issues.

Re: RC2 feedback
OK now I am confused.. did you guys need the inxi after all, even when it boots?

Re: RC2 feedback
Nothing wrong with posting machine specs on successful boots. It gives people with similar machines confidence in MX-14 for their rigs.

Re: RC2 feedback
I was running an experiment on apt-notifier. Which by the way is really slick. I downgraded mx-flash so I could get a notification. The downgrade gave me 0.13.98+git20140303-mx140+1. There was no upgrade notification after doing this. The latest version is 0.13.98+git20140304-mx140+1, but is not in the repos. All test repos are enabled. Has it not been added and still only in git?
To be clear, not an apt-notifier issue, but a latest mx-flash availability issue.

Re: RC2 feedback
Installed RC2, hotshots is back, thank you!
Noticed one thing so far: desktop backgrounds, used to be a few, now there are only two. Easy to add, of course
Continuing the install.
How are things with virtualbox on this RC? All ok? Haven't attempted that one yet.
