@chris_debian,

Even though there is a cli install option, I would have tried to figure out why X wasn't starting in a Live Session, before installing MX14 to harddrive.

There might be some video related cheats you can add to the boot command (or maybe they're available from the F5 key?) Anti or some other antiX regular can give more details on that.

What is your video hardware?

Chris, best to start another thread, thanks.

Ok, another attempt. This is a bit neater.

At boot menu, type load=pata-via or load=all

Re: Can't Get to TTY to Configure X, after installation comp

1. At boot grub, type bp=2
2. Press Enter/Return
3. At the prompt, type load-live-modules
4. Type exit
This worked running live cd Thank you anti for this work around.

Hey golden45, could you also try typing only

load=pata-via

at the boot menu screen. It would really help to see if this was the missing module.

(edit - this and golden45's post should really be in the boot thread. Mod, please move)

I don't know if this info helps, but on an old HP d325 dinosaur, live cd said:
Error 0400 reading sector 354572
And wouldn't boot.

TaDa!

load=pata-via worked for me with the fix2_delta.

For those that cannot, here are some boot cheats that might work

bdev=/dev/sr0 OR
bdev=/dev/dvd OR
bdev=/dev/cdrom

blab=MX-14-live
Compaq Presario SR1215CL Desktop PC Will boot and Install AntiX 13.2, but will not boot MX-14.13.97 using any of these boot cheats.

Typing this cheat code: load=pata-via <--Booted this older system with the Torrent downloaded CD burned with K3B on a cheap generic CD from the99 cent Store.

I have one more older system to try tomorrow, but believe this solves my booting problems.
