Greetings all.
Thanks to all who contributed their personal time to this project/move.
I read the forum several times per day--right along with the morning cup.
I also check it at work--usually between flights.
I too will not see 60 (years) again. That being said, I find the "off black" text on gray background difficult to read. It just lacks contrast--at least to me.
The only other negative comment that I can come up with is the lack of the latest post info on the right side. That was the first place I always looked when logging on. Now, it requires clicking every subject to see what is being discussed.
I believe that the transition will just take a bit of time to become accustomed to.
Thanks, again for your unselfish work.

Re: New Forum Comments
Karen, Rich, Jerry - congrats - it looks great.
Only other thing I see still missing that we talked about was user rep. As discussed, I see this as far more important than post count (I used rep when I first joined MEPIS Community to decide whose advice I should be following - especially when you get conflicting advice on occasion).
If there is no way of bringing it across automatically - if Karen is able to get me a list from the old database - I'll volunteer to enter it automatically user by user. Just let me know.

Re: New Forum Comments
Great work guys.
A small thing: My post count seems to be substantially lower. I don't mind that, but it also changed the title under my online status from "Mepis Guide" to "Mepis Rules" as well as the number of pyramids showing. I don't mind that either, I just noticed it and thought I would point it out in case it happened to anyone else.
If this has already been discussed, I apologize in advance.

You mean the points already accumulated? I think not. User rep is implemented, under your Avatar, but we are all starting from 0Brooko wrote:Karen, Rich, Jerry - congrats - it looks great.

Older posts have been archived. So your post count is from the start of 2009. I also changed the rank nomenclature.Roadblock wrote:Great work guys.![]()

Re: New Forum Comments
Jerry, Just for reference, on my laptop screen it looks like a very bright background, white, and high contrast black text. The point being, visually, it will look different depending on the display. We could only evaluate based on the limited number of people, about 50, who logged into the test site, and our own equipment. Having said that, and I can make no promises. but perhaps the contrast can be tweaked.muskt wrote: I too will not see 60 (years) again. Re: New Forum Comments
It might be worth Jerry checking the 'gamma' setting for his display. I have mine lowered from 1.0 as that is retina-burning bright with this particular panel. Too low and the text gets washed out, and I'm guessing it looks somewhat as Jerry describes.
