essential apps for xfce

#1 Post by bidral »

I am in mxlinux 23.2 kde. Now want to install xfce on it via synaptic. Could anybody tell me the apps/packages name that are essential to run xfce smoothly. Thanks a lot

Make a backup.
From the menu; MX Tools, then select MX Package installer.
When it comes up enter xfce in the search box.
The package installer will show it under Desktop Environments.
Tick the box and select install.

Open synaptic and search for xfce4. This is the meta package and recommended packages.

Thank you friends. It worked like a magic. But after log in to xfce I did not found the 'network manager'. So, can not connect to wifi.

Load KDE and check synaptic to see if network-manager is installed.

I would check if network-manager-gnome is installed - this package brings the GUI configuration tool including a panel applet.
