Folks, been using a wireless mouse for a while, been working fine.

Now suddenly not working, I've tried the receiver in different USB sockets but no luck.

I noticed it after a recent update though not certain that is the issue as I often use the touchpad of my laptop and not the mouse.

My most recent update shows 7 packages but my list only shows 4 of the seven as listed below;
upgrade ddm-mx firefox gir1.2-javascriptcoregtk-4.0 gir1.2-webkit2-4.0 libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0-1…
Input devices, Mouse allows settings to be altered but I get no response, any pointers appreciated.

Can't appear to cancel this post so marked as 'accept this answer'

No, not battery, recently replaced.

After a few reboots and then posting this request for advice I booted in to my Ubuntu system running iceWM then Arch running xfce4 and mouse worked fine, back in MX (which is my main system) and it is now working.

Shall try and cancel this post or mark it in some way.

No idea why it didn't initially work in MX - did the normal, log out, then back in, reboot. Plugged receiver in different USB ports, all to no avail, now it works :tumbleweed:

The mystery of computers.

It may have been revived by mouse-to-mouse resuscitation.
