Bluetooth Not Working Recently [Solved]

Hello all,

I am a relative new user to Mx Linux and am currently using MX-23.2 (Xfce 4.18.1, Debian 12.5) and so far my experience has been very positive. However I noticed today that my Bluetooth is not working, the icon used to show in the panel and it is gone. When I try to open Blueman Bluetooth Manager the program tries to open, blinks and then immediately closes. I can only guess that during an update something went wrong, I have been installing software recently however mainly flatpaks so I don't think that should be the problem.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the issue?

This is what I use for my bluetooth earbuds, phone, and any other bluetooth enabled devices. I always make sure that whatever devices I get as well as peripherals, are compatible with Linux. Here's what I use:

It's plug and play. However, I know compatibility can vary from one kind of hardware to another so YMMV. I had the same problem getting bluetooth to work consistently on Linux before but after I bought that device, I haven't had anymore problems.

It looks like you have no bluetooth adaptor in the computer. Had you been able to connect one of the bluetooth devices previously to the computer?

That is the odd thing, I must have an adaptor as I used to have the icon in my panel and I remember opening Blueman Manager to review the settings. I don't recall if I actually tried to connect to anything in the past until now. I fear that by installing some software from a .deb file that perhaps somehow I messed up my system.

I tried to boot with a live MX Linux CD and the result was the same, it seems there is something wrong with the hardware adapter itself. So not a MX Linux issue.
