Clipman has by default not having available to paste immediately some text that you copied from an application that has been meanwhile closed. You have to click on Clipman's tray icon and click again on the text you want so it will be available to paste.
What I'd like to know if it's possible to change this behavior, so that whatever you copy will be always available to paste immediately no matter what.
I'm aware that I can use other clipboard managers to do this like i.e. Parcellite, which I'm using at the moment, but Clipman has that extremely useful feature for me of generating Qr codes.
I'm using MX 21 Xfce with Clipman 1.6.2.
Thank you in advance for your help and attention.
Clipman requiring extra clicks to paste text from closed application [Solved]
Re: Clipman requiring extra clicks to paste text from closed application
Well, it might be heavier, but copyq is awesome and in the default repos.
Re: Clipman requiring extra clicks to paste text from closed application
Thank you Stevo for your help.
As you suggested I tried copyq and it's indeed a rich application with lots of goodies in it, but unfortunately as you also mentioned it is heavier. It consumes in my old core duo laptop with 4gb of ram around 200mb in all its running processes, which is a bit more than desired, specially since the browsers started being so heavy on ram. Clipman and parcellite consume around 30 or 40mb so it makes a difference.
This qr code thing is really handy and, as I'm typing, I've now went back to clipman just because of it since I use it many times a day. The occasional extra clicks are worth the hustle because I had to be using a separate qr code generator app (qtqr) which was giving more trouble in comparison.
Is there maybe a clipman / parcellite clone or alike with qr code generator?

Re: Clipman requiring extra clicks to paste text from closed application
I'm confused:I'm using MX 21 Xfce with Clipman 1.6.2.
Code: Select all
$ apt policy clipman
clipman:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 1.2.0+git20200218.39fd4fe-1+b6
Version table:
1.2.0+git20200218.39fd4fe-1+b6 500
500 http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye/main amd64 Packages
Oh, wait, it's "xfce4-clipman-plugin", and we do have 1.6.2.
Re: Clipman requiring extra clicks to paste text from closed application [Solved]
I believe this behavior on Clipman has changed in the update to Xfce 4.18, I updated today and the extra clicks are no longer required.
Well, solved it is!
edit: after all it still remains for some things but not all.
