I can not install "gufw"

#1 Post by jarkky »

I can not configure the gufw and maybe because here is some installation issue:

Code: Select all

~$ sudo apt install gufw

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

Have you tried using synaptic to fix your broken packages?

Please post your Quick System Info . You can find it in your applications menu. Run it and post the text output in this thread.

AFAIK, gufw comes pre-installed in MX Linux. Seems you may have some other issues with you packages or repos you have installed/adjusted.

Code: Select all

$ gufw
Command 'gufw' not found, but can be installed with:
sudo apt install gufw
The package is not here. Not sure why... could it be removed by the NVIDIA installation?

If I try fix the packages, there is errors:

Code: Select all

And no idea why the packages are broken...

Have you attempted to use Synaptic Package Manager to fix broken/missing packages?

I see at least two issues:

1st issue: The repositories are out of order:

Code: Select all

Repos: Packages: note: see --pkg apt: 2604 lib: 1382 flatpak: 0
           Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list

           No active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/skype-stable.list
           Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/teams.list
           1: deb [arch=amd64] https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/ms-teams/ stable main
Suggest this:
* remove /etc/apt/sources.list
* open MX Repo manager -> Other Tab -> Reset repos and accept AHS repos to be available
* next re-select again with "MX Repos" tab, your prefered MX Repository

2nd issue:
* suggest to change within UEFI Firmware setup from RAID to AHCI/SATA
to avoid any issue with accessing the drives.

Code: Select all

RAID:      Hardware-1: Intel 82801 Mobile SATA Controller [RAID mode] driver: ahci v: 3.0 port: 5060 bus-ID: 00:17.0
           chip-ID: 8086.282a rev: 30 class-ID: 0104
You may need to switch RAID to SATA/AHCI within Windows, if installed.
