Touchegg not working

#1 Post by mdintisar »

I have installed touchegg from MX test repo and touchee from flathub to modify the config but touchegg is simply not working.

If I write touchegg in a terminal, I get the following.

Code: Select all

~> touchegg
Touchégg v2.0.13.
Starting Touchégg in client mode
Parsing your configuration file...
Using configuration file "/home/md/.config/touchegg/touchegg.conf"
Configuration parsed successfully
Connecting to Touchégg daemon...
Error connecting to Touchégg daemon: Could not connect: Connection refused
Reconnecting in 5 seconds...
Error connecting to Touchégg daemon: Could not connect: Connection refused
Reconnecting in 5 seconds...
Is there any solution?

I am sure with systemd it would work. But MX Linux isn't about systemd.

I ended up using libinput gestures.

It can be systemd if you opt to boot into it.

I know MX can boot into systemd but MX defaults not to use systemd. It prefers that. I have no problem with that. Thank you for your suggestion.

Sorry, but what do you mean exactly?

It's possible to make it default from "MX Boot Options" - "Boot to".

Instead of using touchegg to control my touchpad gestures I am using libinput gestures.

I installed the following.

Oh, you're talking about the touchpad--then I understand. I thought you were talking about touchscreen use, which is where I was trying to work with it.
