[SOLVED] Video Problem - Was: WIFI-USB Adapter RTL8111 Not Working [Solved]
The little internal PCI wifi nic, with cables to the front panel antenna, works.
The external dual-antenna WIFI-USB adapter doesn't.
I followed the steps here:
viewtopic.php?p=643894#p643894
Then disconnected the internal wifi nic and rebooted.
I connected the USB wifi.
My external dual-antenna WIFI-USB adapter is recognized as a Realtek in System Profiler & Benchmarks.
I can see it in MX Network.
I tried rebooting, again.
It will not connect to wifi - no evidence it's even trying to do so.
Any suggestions, please?

viewtopic.php?p=255062#p255062It is very important that you provide the hardware specifications of your machine. If it is a video problem obviously the video card is important. At times it may not be clear what component may be the problem so give as much detail on hardware as possible. The preferred way to provide this information is Quick System Info available from the menu. When you click on it the system information is copied to the clipboard. Then paste that into your post.
viewtopic.php?p=255061#p255061Help requests must include information about the computer's system and hardware. The best way to do this in MX Linux is to run the Quick System Info (QSI) utility found in the main menu or in MX Tools. antiX users may run inxi -Fxxxrza in a terminal.
These links are posted at the top of every forum page, at the very top of the Welcome section. They're there because they're meant to be read.
Please read the Forum Rules, How To Ask For Help, How to Break Your System and Don't Break Debian. Always include your full Quick System Info (QSI) with each and every new help request.

Re: WIFI-USB Adapter RTL8111 Not Working
Reinstalled the internal nic so I could connect to the Forum from the actual PC and send the Quick Info.
Note: I believe that the Qualcom is the internal nic - which I'd removed for the 5th time (to try to isolate the USB nic) late last night.
The USB device is labeled "PCI" - could that create a problem?
Thanks.

They both appeared, to me, to be the same RTL8111.Huckleberry Finn wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 2:20 am... But did you first see / know if they were the same chips or that was the required driver for yours, too?NevilsStation wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 10:53 pm I followed the steps here:

Re: WIFI-USB Adapter RTL8111 Not Working
What's the best way to UN-install that driver/those drivers, please?
Would something like this work?
Would something like this work?
Code: Select all
sudo dkms remove -m 8192cu -v 4.0.2.9000.20130911 --all

Re: WIFI-USB Adapter RTL8111 Not Working
In fact, the best is: Plug the device, then:
Just to make sure first what device we're talking about and what driver it needs exactly etc.
Code: Select all
lsusb ; inxi -nxxxz
