how to uninstall "Tor and Privoxy"

#1 Post by bambuko »

I have installed "Tor and Privoxy" using MXPI.
How do I, please, uninstall it?
When I tick it in MXPI uninstall option is greyed out :confused:

Code: Select all

bambuko@mx-main:~
$ service tor status
tor is running.
bambuko@mx-main:~
$ service privoxy status
privoxy is running.

Re: how to uninstall "Tor and Privoxy"  [Solved]

#2 Post by CharlesV »

confirmed this is an issue. ( this is possibly a remnant of the 'cannot uninstall more than one thing at a time' issue that was resolved a month? ago.)

You can go to the Enabled repos tab and search for tor. Select tor, uninstall it and then search for privoxy and uninstall that.

This MAY leave some lib's on board. My test showed that they were all set for autoremove, but you can manually remove them if you prefer. ( Please check them for dependencies if your going to manually remove them! And as always, timeshift before you do anything here.)

Here were the libs that were installed and then removed at autoremove
libmbedtls14
libmbedx509-1

Thank you,
that solved the issue (and yes, indeed, I had to remove two separate things)
did autoremove libs and those that you mention were in amongst the lot

Your very welcome and glad we had a good fix for it. (And it looks like Adrian has already fixed that in the installer, and I will be testing shortly.)
