I do see the "535.247.01" in the first line in QSI Graphics section.

Maybe post the output of this, it'll show all nvidia packages that are installed (might be some others than just the 470xx packages 18 shown as updates)

Code: Select all

dpkg -l | grep ^ii\ \ .*nvidia.*

Also wonder about this in the QSI?

Code: Select all

API: OpenGL Message: Unable to show GL data. Required tool glxinfo missing.
The mesa-utils & mesa-utils-bin packages install glxinfo.

I think I got it.
I did a "sudo ddm-mx -p nvidia", then a reboot. I think I got to nouveau drivers. I was expecting a terminal session.
I then used the Nvidia Driver Installer which installed just the 535 drivers. I think the 470 driver was out there from prior attempts to fix my system from the repo issue last week.
The notifier is not complaining anymore about updating 470 drivers. I'm guessing it would have updated the dormant 470 drivers.

I think I'm good.I fired up a game in Steam and it seems to work.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction everyone.

Yeah, I've been trying to get the 555 nvidia-driver from experimental to install on MX 23 AHS after backporting it, but something is blocking it from doing so from my local-apt-repo folder. We do have it working in MX 25 AHS to support 6.15 kernels, though.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
