Installer Hangs at 94%

#1 Post by mwilsonl »

I have the same problem: install hangs at 94%. Installing on an Asus PC from a live USB.
The version of MX19.4 64 bit liveUSB
MX installer says: Installation in progress - 94% - Setting system configuration
I have looked through the posts by people with a similar issue but frankly I am lost.
Would appreciate help with this. Should I abort the installation and try booting the PC? At the moment I have the installation waiting at 94%.

this is a different problem, not with mx-package-installer.

it would be better to start a new thread and post the /var/log/minstall.log file.

@Eadwine Rose if you are around, can you move this post to a new thread "Installer Hangs at 94%". @AK-47 @Adrian

Could you please update the installer as per the instructions contained here (if you haven't already) and try again?
From the live log it looks as if you (or at least something else) aborted the installation, did any error message appear before it hung?

The /var/log/minstall.log file (requested by @dolphin_oracle) will help. It's like the live log, but has more details and information regarding the installation process.

Since this is mwilsonl's first post, could it be as simple as him not knowing that he has to complete the registration process before the install procedure itself will complete?
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Hi guys. Thanks for your replies. Sorry for posting in the wrong place .. of course it wasn't the package manager ...
I now know I should have posted /var/minstall.log Well, I updated the Installer and was able to install MX successfully also with my saved desktop from the liveUSB persistent.
This issue is solved. How do I indicate that it's solved?

Just click the check-mark button on the post that was the solution :)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
