Considerating the number of posts in this topic I am surprised I am not banned.

At this point in time I would really like you to tell me exactly what it is you would like to know. Hardware, software, implementation, configuration, new ideas or science fiction. I do not care. Show me your stuff!

I've described it in the opener, as I would usually, and also as the thread, Proactive & Constructive Problem Reporting (Advice), recommends. Let me know when the hordes arrive, lol, as making the effort to report an issue is something helpful the minions do! Not just for my own hopeful resolution, which later today, if necessary, will be a snapshot reinstall. Librewolf via the repo was the only update that day, so I'm not sure if there's an issue there and if others may encounter that. Anyway, I must press on with other things for now, so will wish you a good day.

This enabled shut down to work, but today booting up sticks/have to press enter. 

you mean when booting up you get the maintenance prompt?

Thanks for responding, @dolphin_oracle ... it gets to the grub/choice screen, but doesn't automatically go through and finish booting through into password entry. Just checked the Boot Options and it looks like remembering last boot was off! I hadn't turned it off. Will test it now.
