Is there a way to exclude QSIs from forum search? [Solved]
Is there a way to exclude QSIs from forum search?
Recently was searching for posts about the Liquorix kernel and got results about someone having trouble with the Librewolf repo, someone wanting to change the size of their swap file, etc....but they show up as search results because they have a Liquorix kernel in their QSI.
So, is it possible to exclude the QSI from the search?

I have had the same issue and have not figured out a way to do this.
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

The phpbb forum code doesn't allow for this. When searching for a word or term, it will display ALL of the results it finds, including users who post their QSI.jeffreyC wrote: Thu Jul 10, 2025 4:25 am Recently was searching for posts about the Liquorix kernel and got results about someone having trouble with the Librewolf repo, someone wanting to change the size of their swap file, etc....but they show up as search results because they have a Liquorix kernel in their QSI.

The more terms you add should help weed out a lot of results but QSI's might show up.

I searched for grub -QSI and it returned 13,000 results.
Then I searched for grub and it returned 14,000 results.
So it seems like adding a - in front of the search term you want to exclude will help somewhat.

QSI's still show up. I searched for Liquorix kernel -QSI and the third search result shows the users QSI.Germ wrote: Thu Jul 10, 2025 2:39 pm I searched for grub -QSI and it returned 13,000 results.

@jeffreyC Try this. I went to advanced search and typed in "Liquorix kernel -Snapshot -System:" and the first 10 pages yielded no QSI's.
So just add
Code: Select all
-Snapshot -System:

Suddenly, all of the users who have been ignoring or resisting the forum rules and not sharing, or inconsistently sharing, their QSIs for years are laughing.

Members have another option to post their QSI without using code block.DukeComposed wrote: Thu Jul 10, 2025 11:23 pmSuddenly, all of the users who have been ignoring or resisting the forum rules and not sharing, or inconsistently sharing, their QSIs for years are laughing.

You and I both know this is uncommon and largely discouraged by the community.siamhie wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 12:18 am Members have another option to post their QSI without using code block.
