cleared cache, even reinstalled firefix via synaptic.
It's not working. I'm clearly not describing this correctly. it's not just firefox, how could it be? This ..just...started..this..morning. What would cause that? I have some theories but I'm not an expert so I'm going to keep them to ...

I made the change, but it had no effect at all.
This is a business computer. I need firefox as it has all my passwords. I now cannot use firefox. I would like to be able to use it please. Open to suggestions on how to resolve this impossible, unreal situation that can't actually be happening.

--If in starting your system it boots to an unwanted Desktop, right click desktop, then select leave and logout. At the
login screen there is a session chooser at the top of the screen. Choose the session you want (probably Xfce) and log back in. the choice will be sticky ...
