timkb4cq Thanks for the info on Memtest86 needing a GRUB entry! That sounds advanced for me, but I'll look into it. Update: https://www.memtest86.com/tech_configuring-grub.html is too advanced for me. Maybe future me will do this. That's really cool about using Synaptic's Installed Files tab ...

In MX Package Installer, search for and install gsmartcontrol. It works for HDD and SSD. Good luck!
