Ah, aren't they overwritten by the new install though? At least the ones that changed enough to matter is what I've seen in the past
Existing contents in /home, including hidden dot config files, are never written over.
can't help with encrypted /home.
I have /home on a separate drive ...

Master volume reset to 40% when logging out of desktop - a solution.
After much searching I came across this solution to the relatively minor annoyance of the master volume being reset to 40% on logging out and back in, but not on reboot. This only happens with systemd.
