Nightcolors not automatically applied?

Hello!

Hello!

I have recently installed a new graphics card, see here https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=82841

Now the night colors in KDE are no longer activated automatically at system startup, although I have selected “always on”.

When I restart, the night colors are no longer active ...

Re: Upgrade from iGPU to dGPU - drivers? order? [Solved]

At boot the kernel chooses the driver automatically after detecting the hardware. Usually radeon is for older cards and amdgpu for the newer ones (probably including yours).
To check which driver is used run lspci with the -k flag.

lspci -k

finally installed the card and it works so far ...

I think Debian fixed it now, latest chromium got installed here without any special adjustments.
apt policy chromium

Suppose I decide to do what you describe in the post and the problem is solved.

Is it foreseeable that a package maintainer will fix the problem permanently? If so, would I then have to undo everything possible and do a completely different procedure? What do ...

chromium disappeared after update [Solved]

Hallo!

Re: Upgrade from iGPU to dGPU - drivers? order? [Solved]

I thought that disabling the iGPU would prevent the dGPU and iGPU from “competing” with each other and causing inconsistencies or errors. I will inform you again as soon as I have installed it how it works and which drivers are used :-)

Okay, thank you very much for your help.

I'll just test it, throw in the GPU and see if it works and which driver is selected by the kernel.
It seems like there are multiple different drivers for multiple aspects of the one graphics card?

Let me collect what I have understood so far:
