I found the following information on the linux Mint forum: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=272283 about Vulkan support on older Radeon cards, but how this doing on MX?

There is such a laptop (pretty old) and two operating systems tested on it at the same time (parallel, of course) - antiX 23 and MX 23.2.

I think that you should try MX's sister OS, Antix with a laptop of that age.
