I would like to know if having an extra port on my mini-tower which has MX19 on one drive if I can add an extra HD with MX23 installed as to whether at boot time the new drive will be recognized. TNX in advance.

The best option is to create a MX21 usb drive and mail to him ... after that he can boot from it and access MX Tools to recreate his passwds ... TNX again ... problem solved!

Unfortunately, he doesn't have a Live medium to boot from anymore. The only thing I can think of is to reset his passwd by accessing the Recovery Mode Menu so I can have him get to the root shell prompt to issue the reset.

I have a freind who has MX21 installed on his machine and is unable to login with his credentials ... I would like to reset his passwd using Recovery Mode (have to do it by calling him on his phone ... impossible to obtain his QSI because he can't login) ... how do I access it?

Hello again Glen ... you said you installed the Breeze metapackage (from Synaptic?) ... that is made for the Plasma desktop! You don't need it ... uninstall it ... get rid of residuals (sudo apt autoremove && sudo aptitude purge ~c). After that, simply install the breeze-gtk theme pack from MX Pkg ...

AppImages are, for the most part, self-sufficient ... they do, however, read your system for necessary dependencies if available. In the case of Kdenlive I would suggest/recommend installing the Breeze theme from MX's Package Installer ... does the trick. Don't forget to install ...

Hello All!

MX19 is now EOl and I realize that there will be no more updates from the Debian side. I have two questions:

(1) Will Firefox and OnlyOffice (installed from MX Pkg. Installer) continue to update?
(2) I will continue using MX19 because I need a couple of Apps that require the QT4 ...
