Hello y'all,
loaded MX23.3 from a Linux magazine DVD. Install took about an hour with updates.
tried the 'power management' trick and any thing else with display/screensaver.
I ended up using MXPackInstaller to load the 'XFCE4 desktop' - it wasn't checked as being installed.
{it never showed it ...

I had the same type of error - couldn't find the file anywhere. - I did use the 'dd' method.

I ended up solving this by using the official 'rpi-imager' program from the Raspberry site.
as it wasn't available via 'apt'. You will need to go to the bottom of the list for the 'OS to load' window ...
