My PC received an update last night that failed on install. Unfortunately, I missed the initial error in the console before I closed the package updater, but I think it was likely the same as the output from my autoremove below:
$ sudo apt autoremove

Re: Mesa 25.0.2 in MX-23.5_ahs_x64 [Solved]
I learned the answer to this problem, and the answer is to leave it alone.
Don't break your Debian trying to do this; just setup a temp install of another distro. In my case, that's Nobara, as it has easy access to bleeding-edge packages, but it could be anything, including another expendable ...

Re: Mesa 25.0.2 in MX-23.5_ahs_x64 [Solved]
Being as it's only in Sid, and has not even made it to Trixie, I think it's going to need more time.
Good thing you were not able to compile and install it manually; that would have broken your system. Our AHS just (carefully) updated Mesa to 24.4.8 about a week ago.
I've been researching ...

If this should instead be a support question before a package request, please let me know and I will delete and repost there.

Re: Boot hang after move partitions left in gparted [Solved]
I was able to fix this using the boot-repair tool in a live environment. https://sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair/home/Home/
I don't know if the problem should have been fixed by the MX Boot Repair, or if something was encountered that it couldn't detect as a problem. It completed with no errors, but ...

Boot hang after move partitions left in gparted [Solved]
My NVME was dual boot Win10/MX23, and I tired of the Win10 partition, so I booted to MXLive and deleted it and the other superfluous partitions. Afterward, I updated the grubcfg and booted successfully into MX23.
Then I rebooted to MXLive and moved the EFI partition left and rebooted. All was well ...

Re: Installing just ESP/EFI to USB
TY for the reply, and apologies for the delay in mine. I am traveling presently.
So, as already suggested, install e.g. entire drive.
Next, 1st simple test, reboot into LiveUSB and at the LiveBoot menu do select Boot Rescue -> search for efi-booloader

Re: Installing just ESP/EFI to USB
Thx for the suggestion, but rEFInd was unable to help. Said nothing bootable was found.

Re: Not locking when going to sleep after replacing xfce4-screensaver [Solved]
So, to be honest, I don't really need/use a screensaver, and even after swapping the order in /usr/bin/xflock4, the xscreensaver lock was invoked, so I simply uninstalled xscreensaver and will simply use power management to blank my display as needed, locking at th4e same time. This works great for ...
