Reading this thread, the first question in my mind was: why not use mx samba config ?
I installed MX Linux on my 2nd machine and made up a samba_share just for test and used the given tool mx samba config :)

Same problem here:

Error 22: Unsupported option: --filter-all
Check -h for correct parameters.

Erm..noob question: Shouldn't everyone change the standard ISP dns server to a 'free' dns server ?
Found myself some time ago this opennic project and use those dns server since.
