Yes, but I updated the Linux distro and it stopped working.

I'm going to install the latest version of Mx Linux with the most up-to-date kernel and test it.

Apparently support for that PCI ID number was added to the rtl8xxxu kernel driver with kernel 6.2. We have a wide selection of kernels newer than that available. You should also update firmware-realtek from Debian backports with MXPI. We also have it in AHS, but installing the backports version ...
