Re: Flathpack apps not working anymore?

Did you upgrade a kernel? Might be that you need to go into the flatpak tab, select installed apps, and then upgrade all.

My one flatpak thing (kodi) always quits working when I upgrade the kernel, and upgrading sorts that out.

I didn't upgrade kernel.
I did flatpak update and upgrade all but ...

Flathpack apps not working anymore?

It seems that any flathpack app refuses to start.

Now I want to run bottles and nothing happens.

If I copy and paste the run command from the start menu to the terminal it throws this error:

╰─ /usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=bottles --file-forwarding com.usebottles ...

Re: How user(s) rights and root rights are guarded and protected and kept unmodified?

Is there any way to bypass root privileges or to add "custom" privileges to any given user without being root?.. Yes.

(I'd even posted that in a dedicated thread. However I see that it's been deleted). Therefore it may be better to simply keep additional users out of group sudo , in multi-user ...

How to add an working shortcut in the start menu properly?

I have downloaded Ventoy and placed it under /opt folder like this /opt/ventoy

I wanted to add it to the start menu using that Menu Editor tool but it won't give me access to its path and neither to open its path to choose an icon. Running it as root won't work either.

So, I right clicked on start ...

How user(s) rights and root rights are guarded and protected and kept unmodified?

Supposing an user want to do ls /etc or ls /root it will get "Permission denied. (error 13)".
How is this watched?
I suppose that there is a service constantly monitoring what any user is doing, right?
If so, wouldn ...

Colorful boot messages?

I remember that a long time ago I tested a Linux distro (I don't remember which one but I think it was Slakware) and while booting, like any other Linux distro, it shows various loading messages etc. but they were colorful.

Is there any way to make the same in MX Linux? I am asking this because I ...

Re: How to protect and detect keylogger and/or password stealers?

@IAMNewbie

In order to make Windows as user friendly as possible, Microsoft chose to take some actions that the other OSes eschewed:

-- they made their office suite a sub-module of the kernel so that its various parts could interoperate seamlessly
-- they chose to put the kernel and the user's ...

Where exactly is the right place to put this directory structure with files and binaries in order to be able to be executed by the user and also by the root and ...
