Seems fixed now, the problematic updates went away. Thanks to the team if it's their work :D

All the repos are affected. I guess we need to wait for a fix.
Edit : If you didn't know already, it only affects the AHS repos, no issue on my regular install (I have several).

For your information, new driver update today reverted my install to "nouveau, vesa".
Reinstalling drivers with the assistant fixed it, but I had to delete the two simlinks I had created previously because it was saying "broken glx links group".

(Previously) : Installed sudo apt install mx-debian-firmware per DolphinOracle recommendation, fixed Nouveau and console access
(Previously) : made simlink sudo ln /etc/nvidia/current/nvidia-blacklists-nouveau.conf /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-blacklists-nouveau.conf


Made a simlink sudo ln /etc/nvidia ...

I had no simlink to nvidia-blacklists-nouveau.conf in /etc/modprobe.d/ so I made one and updated initramfs, and broke X.
Xorg log says failed to load nv, and messages.log says loading nvidia-modeset, then initialized.
Reverted changes from the console. I'm confused.

I'm quite happy with Nouveau, but I don't like staying in the dark so continuing. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, and this time no error in the ddm.log (attached).
But after reboot, no sign of the Nvidia driver being used.

I'm going to suggest install mx-debian-firmware, then apt install -f

for whatever reason, your installation of the nvidia driver isn't quite finishing.

I installed mx-debian-firmware, then ran apt install -f (the later had nothing to do), but it worked, install is no more borked at reboot.
Now ...

What happens when you load up a persistent LiveUSB of MX and install the Nvidia drivers there?

I may be dumb but I cannot make the LiveUSB persistent despite choosing the right option with Live USB creator.
In all cases a fresh install works with no error message and displays modsetting as a ...
