My Complete virtman libvirt setup [Solved]
I had some problems the last time I set up virtman. I was on another Debian based system. When I blew Ubuntu away on this rig with 23.6, I copy/pasted these instructions and everything is working without a hitch and no pesky SPICE errors. Thought I'd share. It works for me. Do your research and use ...

Re: Steam Crashing On Launch mx-23 ahs Nvidia [Solved]
Far as I can tell the code is in text format. I used a screenshot to illustrate how copying what I posted may be easier to read in a markdown viewer. I'll modify the post in any way you like though.
edit: I edited the post with an update to fix a problem I was having where games were really choppy ...

Steam Crashing On Launch mx-23 ahs Nvidia & Performance Issues [Solved]
Decided to fire up steam and it was crashing on launch. I had my AI write up a little help / how-to in case someone else encounters it.
:exclamation: Do your own research, use at your own risk. It worked for me, maybe not for you. The how-to is formatted in markdown. :lion: I like to use dillinger ...

LibreOffice Calc Menu Font Size Too Small MX23 [Solved] [Solved]
Running MX23, KDE. The menu text font is atrociously small.
This fixed it for me:
sudo apt install libreoffice-gtk3
There may be a better way. I can maneuver easily now :-)
System:
Kernel: 6.1.0-35-amd64 [6.1.137-1] arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 12.2.0

Libretto KDE ahs Feedback
Hi everyone,
Long time no see. I'm so happy to say that Libretto KDE ahs is a resounding joy to work with.
Also happy to say that I'm so happy I don't have to use Red hat anymore (I was using it for some work related stuff). I'm doing work in GCP and it's good to see Debian being used there.

I've heard nothing but good things about Mikrotik. Very powerful and reliable. I almost bought them but went with ubiquity (I don't like ubiquity now)>

I used a power line network extender and it was horrible. It might have been OK if all my gear was on the same circuit - but I wasn't willing to take the time to find out!

I can see using that in a pinch. Great idea Stevo!Stevo wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:11 pm At the price of el cheapo or used smartphones, setting one of those to use the wi-fi network and then tethering it to the Linux computer could be another option.

Re: Tired of fighting with WIFI adapters? Me too. I fixed it grandma
Extender bandwidth is much slower due to two wireless links in use. Most times close to half.
He's using the extender in AP mode. So essentially its a router and a switch cascaded. All extenders have no LAN ports, the only difference between it and a regular router.
Anyone contemplating doing ...

Re: Tired of fighting with WIFI adapters? Me too. I fixed it grandma
Excellent work around and thanks for posting!
Just curious, what is your download speed using this connect, versus wired up NOT on the extender? (most extenders cut your speeds - some as much as by half and NOT including if you have poor Wi-Fi signal.)
Thanks. My download speeds are about the ...
