Re: MX-23 RC2 (KDE) feedback thread
I had the identical problem with MX-23 RC1.
When doing the initial reboot into the mx system, I get to the login screen and enter my password. The system thinks for a few seconds and gives me the login screen again. This goes on forever.
I looked at the system installed on the harddrive. There is ...

Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread
I've tried both the 23 KDE and 23 XFCE.
When I install the distro, I get to a place in the reboot after successful install where it gives me 2 choices:
== enter root password
== Ctrl-D to continue
If I Ctrl-D, I will finally get to a log in screen for my new user. My user password will be accepted ...

Re: MX-23 beta 1 feedback thread
I installed MX-23 KDE (and tried XFCE). I could not log in as my user.
The reboot (after install or subsequent) would get to a place where I had the option to enter Ctrl-D to continue or my root password.
If I selected Ctrl-D, the reboot would eventually bring up the log-in screen. Entering my ...

Re: Adding to my PATH on system startup
Ah. That makes sense.
I solved the problem by sourcing .profile from .zshrc

Re: Adding to my PATH on system startup
I see. Didn't know that as most of my past experience was on Arch based distros. Although I wonder why the MX install puts those additions in .profile on a clean install.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Adding to my PATH on system startup
I've installed the latest KDE version of MX Linux.
I note that the .profile file in my home directory has two checks already set for adding ~/.local/bin and ~/bin to the PATH.
After reboot, echo $PATH does not show the updated PATH. I created ~/.local/bin and ~/bin so the exist checks should work ...

How to install xfce-polkit
I'm following an article on adding BSPWM to MX Linux Xfce4.
One of the steps is to start xfce-polkit, usr/lib/xfce-polkit/xfce-polkit &, in my ~/.config/bspwm/bspwmrc file. I assume the author meant /usr/lib/...
I don't have /usr/lib/xfce-polkit/ on my system, MX 21.3

Use BTRFS on install of MX
New MX user.
I could not figure out how to install MX with BTRFS instead of EXT4. Is it something I can do?
