Looking for advice before buying a new printer.
A new ISP and their new router has forced me to replace a nearly antique but still functional printer. Printers have always been my biggest pet peeve with Linux. I have a Brother laser printer that supports only 802.11a, which is not available with AT&T's Fiber router. I also have an HP MFC that ...

Re: No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
I found this: https://medium.com/@gamunu/enable-high-quality-audio-on-linux-6f16f3fe7e1f and ran
lscpu | grep 'Byte Order' which told me that I needed to change line #81 in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf from
"default-sample-format = s16le" to "default-sample-format = float32le" . I have working sound ...

Re: No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
I understood what cable you are using.
Well I was going by this Asus VA-229 monitor. I downloaded the manual from here.
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/VA229HR/ASUS_VA229HR_English_180603A.pdf
From the manual. Chapter 3: General Instruction.

Re: No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
You show your 'Monitor-1: HDMI-2 res: 1920x1080 hz: 60 dpi: 102 size: 476x268mm (18.7x10.6").
You are dual booting with Windows. You show "ASUS VA229(Intel(R) Display Audio). I don't know if that is your analog-stereo connection or if Windows is using the sound thru HDMI, not analog-stereo?
The ...

Re: No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
Have you looked at the settings in 'PulseAudio Volume Control'?
Edit
Checking email and when I came back I hit the Submit button.
Did you check the Configuration tab and the Playback tab?
Yes. I have tried all of the Configuration tab options for Analog output. Most are tagged as "(unavailable ...

Re: No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
The driver etc. are ok (correct).
Press F6 and select 0 HDA Intel .. then press F5 "All" ..
Then (as you might already know) you can unmute (also mute) items with the M key from keyboard (those showing MM are muted btw)..
Any item may be even at max. value and may still be muted.
Even when ...

No sound on Line Out - MX 21.1 KDE [Solved]
I do not have any sound from the Line Out port on the back of the PC. Headphones plugged into the port on the front work, and my Topping D-30 & A-30 work from the optical port. When I boot into Windows 10, the Line Out works OK. I am using the un-amplified speaker that are built into my Asus VA-229 ...

Re: Dual Boot Before I Install Questions - Windows 10 PC with multiple drives
There is one other you need to think about and that is how you computer see's time. Windows see's time as 'local' unless you set it up to UTC/GMT while Linux see's time as UTC/GMT which you can change when you are installing MX.
I learned that the hard way using the Live USB one time. I ...
