some questions regarding the cration of a iso file on STICK:

.... well does this work - and lead to a successful iso file on stick!?

sudo dd bs=4M if=/home/user/Downloads/Linuxfile.iso of=/dev/sdb status=progress oflag=sync

does this!?

$ sudo dd bs=4M if=/path/to ...

well i have a certain question: in BIOS - can we see if there is any hdd in the system!?
In other words - are there some areas in the bios - where we can see if so (/and if it is the case) which size of HDD is in my
Thinkpad Notebook !?

ist denn - wenn ich in Thunar DATEN kopiere - m.a.W. also auf den Weg über die Kommandozeile (beim Sichern der DATEN) verzichten würde - ist denn hier der Kopiervorgang so dass Thunar sich so verhält dass alles (!) m.a.W. alle DATEN

a. gesehen u.
b. kopiert werden!?

wie würdet ihr denn vorgehen - bei der Aufgabe, alle (!) Daten zu sichern - als vorbereiten einer Neuinstallation
